The style of Miami Vice in the 80s was iconic and trendsetting. The show’s lead characters, played  by Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas, often wore pastel-coloured suits with T-shirts and loafers without socks. This look became known as the ‘Miami Vice Style’  and was a departure from traditional detective attire. The suits were often double-breasted and made of lightweight fabric.
